Week 21: My Family
Week 19: My Family
Figures: Revoltech Alien x 3
"After terrorizing many space explorers for the day, the aliens enjoy a nice quiet dinner at home"
Comment: Was struggling with this theme a bit, trying to figure out what would best represent it. I'm glad I went this out-of-the-ordinary idea ><.
This week's theme (22) is "Arranged".

Week 20: "Symbols"
Week 19: "Symbols"
Figures: Figmas Haruhi Suzumiya, Kagami Hiiragi, and Yui Hirasawa
"Haruhi: ? Yui, I asked you for ideas for this week's theme. What are you doing with all of those?
Yui: Well, this week's photo theme is "Cymbals", right?
Kagami: .................are you serious?"
Comment: Okay a play on words, but I liked the idea. I wished I spent a bit more time preparing this one though; I kinda rushed setting this one up.
Week 21's theme is "My Family". Kinda vague, I'm still thinking up some ideas I could do for this.

Week 19: The Coast
Ok, since I already had this set last weekend, no point in waiting till Monday to post it up:
Week 19: The Coast
Figures: Kotobukiya Haruhi Suzumiya Beach Side Ver.
"Haruhi snuck into my bag for my San Diego trip. She insisted on a short driving break down by the Pacific Beachside."
Comment: Glad I looked up this theme before I left on my trip. My friend told me about the Vista Point close to Oceanside and thought that this would be the perfect place for the shot.
Week 20's theme: Symbols. Took me a few minutes to think up an idea. It gave me a nice laugh that I felt it'd definitely be the one to use for this theme. Till next weekend for that one! ^^

Past theme: Bedtime
I am here to place another past theme I was able to accomplish:
Figures: Gigapulse Natsume Sorayama
"Natsume lies down ready to sleep....or maybe her gaze is saying something different....."
Comment: One of my latest additions. Seemed perfect for the theme seeing she is lying down and with a pillow (?).
Week 18: Sexy
Week 18: Sexy
Figures: Orchid Seed Ryofu Housen (Gothic Lolita Ver.)
"Ryofu shows off her cute yet seductive figure in the downtown San Diego evening lights"
Comment: I originally had the idea of a sexy figure's reflection off the window overlooking the downtown lights.

We got next week's theme, or should I say this week's theme, to be "The Coast". I took the opportunity of my trip down to San Diego this past weekend to already cover this one. Glad I looked up the next theme before I left.

4 Past Themes.
Here's a midweek update covering 4 past themes:
Week 1: Square
Figures: Figma Haruhi and Kyon
"Getting ready for this year's photo challenges, the competitive Haruhi gets ready to frame her upcoming subjects.
Haruhi: Ready Kyon? We have to get the best themed pictures out there! We can't let anyone else beat us!!
Kyon: Right...Right...."
Comment: The thought of framing a subject with ones own fingers seemed perfect for this theme. Also sets up the perfect feel for this year's photo challenges! ^^
Week 10: Cleanliness
Figures: Alter Saber Maid Ver.
"Saber felt generous enough to clean my floor as I came home one day. What a sweet girl! ^^"
Comment: The suds from the soap didn't foam up high as I would've liked. Still though, I like the image and the concept.
Still chugging away to cover the other past themes...

Week 3: Slowly
Figures: Figma Haruhi and Kyon
"Haruhi and Kyon enjoy a pleasant (?) and romantic (?) view of the sun slowly setting"
Comment: I kinda wish I had a better view of a sunset rather than from my front yard for this one. Maybe I will revisit it later down the line.

Week 4: Damaged
Figures: Figma Aegis and Drossel
"Drossel and Aegis came across several severly damaged computer boards
Figures: Figma Aegis and Drossel
"Drossel and Aegis came across several severly damaged computer boards
Aegis: It's no use Drossel, these are all beyond repair...
Drossel: Tch...what a loss..."
Comment: Found these being tossed out and came up with this. These were out in the middle of rain so more of a reason, I'd think, that they wouldn't have worked anyways. Did the smashing myself to exaggerate the damaged concept.

Week 17: Sunshine
Please pay a visit to my first post "Welcome" in this blog to view it's purpose...
Week 17: Sunshine
Figures: Rena Sayers by Wave
"The suns rays shine off Rena blissfully as she walks down the beach"
Comment: Since I couldn't find a suitable natural background around my house, I improvised a bit and used one of the backdrops from one of the Figma boxes. A few creases are noticeable but I tried to hide it with the focus range.

Next week's theme is "Sexy"....this ought to be interesting...
In addition
I did mention that this blog was an experiment. I do have another blog, more general in my use. Please feel free to visit when you do so have the chance: Code Pattern Blue
Also, I came into this game late. I attempt to at least make the photos up until the end of the year. I missed a few weeks of this year and I intend to cover these themes in due time, here's a list of what has popped up since the beginning of 2010;I'll mark off ones I have covered in RED (Last Update: 9/29/10):
04-16-2010 - 'Wheels'
04-09-2010 - 'Overcast'
04-02-2010 - 'Blurred'
03-26-2010 - 'Pleasure'
03-19-2010 - 'Children'
03-12-2010 - 'Nightlife'
03-05-2010 - 'Cleanliness'
02-26-2010 - 'Self-Portrait 2010'
02-19-2010 - 'Nature'
02-12-2010 - 'Lightness'
02-05-2010 - 'Surfaces'
01-29-2010 - 'Distant'
01-22-2010 - 'Damaged'
01-15-2010 - 'Slowly'
01-08-2010 - 'Bed Time'
01-01-2010 - 'Square'
I already covered 3 and have them below:
Week 7: Lightness
Week 8: Nature
Figure: Nendoroid Petit Churuya-san
"Churuya-san is awestruck by the tall tree and feels so insignificant standing next to it. Nyorooon~~"
Comment: Wanted to do a shot of this tree next to my house with the vines all wrapped around it. Churuya was handy at the time for the shoot.
Week 16: Wheels
Figures: Lucky Star Figmas + Ex Figma accessories
"The girls decide to head to school via a faster method"
Comment: The thought here was they are all traveling by means of wheeled accessories. I liked the idea but I think I overloaded it with all of them in a cramped area. But I spent quite a bit of time setting them up and saw it a waste not to use this. Well, a lesson learned.

Week 7: Lightness
Figure: Evangelion XX Chromosome Arael
"No Description"
Comment: In looking for a figure to use for the lightness theme, this one came to mind and I immediately made the shot. If I wasn't too rushed for time, I would've spent more time in taking a better shot. I still love this one though."No Description"
Week 8: Nature

Welcome!
Hello!
I welcome you to this blog experiment of mine that I hope that I can maintain and keep up with.
To put this story short, I am an avid fan of anime, manga, and video games and have done a share in figure collecting. I also like to take a lot of random photos with my Nikon DSLR camera. I often take photos with my figures a lot but sometimes hit snags on ideas to conjure up.
Enter, this blog experiment of mine. My goal is to use the weekly themes for photo challenge for photo taking. Of the various sites out there, I came across Photo Friday and saw it a good place to start. So along with each week's theme, I plan to implement my figures into each photo to represent the said theme. Not to difficult to follow along, right?
And now, knowing me, here's another otaku'ish description of what I am doing: If anime figures were "alive" ("Toy Story" like) what would their daily lives in an immense world look like? How would they react to animal, objects, etc. 6x, 8x, or 12x their size? Thus, this blog's title. It's an interesting thought, one that I decided to attempt to show if that were the case. I'm pretty sure that we've all had our share of toys that we wished were alive at some time or another...
So there we go! I hope that this experiment goes well and wish me luck!
EX: I should be posting once weekly. If I do do one in the middle of my usual posts, most likely it'd be of covering past themes.
